This web page is designed to provide the residents and businesses of Arlington, Dorset, Manchester, Pownal, Rupert, Sandgate, Shaftsbury, and Sunderland Vermont with answers to your questions about recycling, composting, trash disposal, household hazardous waste, transfer stations and other related waste management issues.

The Bennington County Regional Commission (BCRC) assists municipalities with solid waste planning upon request. Eight BCRC municipalities are included in the Regional Solid Waste Implementation Plan, while the remaining municipalities have created their own individual Solid Waste Implementation Plans. Responsibility for implementing the tasks outlined in these plans lies with each municipality.

Click on the menu links at the top of the page to obtain information on ways to recycle, compost, or dispose of waste in your town. Each page also provides links to other organizations and information that can help you learn more about environmentally sound management of your solid waste.
